What prompts production facilities to build their own treatment facilities?
Of course, first of all, such technologies are introduced to ensure that the consumer receives safe, tasty, ecological high quality products. To ensure that the enterprise runs smoothly and without risks. At a certain point in the development of the enterprise, managers can turn a blind eye to such projects – most often due to the lack of working capital. But the moment comes when there is a question of achieving a certain level of environmental safety. This is necessary not only for us to protect the environment, but also to protect ourselves from accusations from eco-activists and authorities.
Also, a very important point – if a company is interested in foreign investments, then the first question from investors always sounds like this: what level are the ecological systems of the enterprise? This is due to the fact that even an enterprise with very good technology, but lacking treatment facilities, can become vulnerable to inquiries and questions from regulatory authorities. Therefore, the presence of environmental safety systems is one of the main points of investment attractiveness.
What is the chronology of the project?
The first step in the implementation of the project is the collection of initial data and research, followed by the selection of equipment and the creation of design and estimate documentation. At the same time, a construction company is working, which develops the construction part and goes through the stage of obtaining construction documentation. This is followed by the stage of purchasing equipment, which is produced and delivered within six months, at which time a structure is being built - a site for installing equipment. After the installation of the equipment, the company that supplies the technology proceeds to the stage of installation supervision and commissioning. After all the equipment is assembled, and the construction parts are completed, there is a start-up, waste water intake and training of personnel to work with the equipment.
That's it, now the company gets the unspoken right to carry water without any problems and pour it into the sewer.

How easy is it to explain how the system works?
All waste water of the enterprise is collected in a sewage pumping station and fed to the stage of fine mechanical cleaning on a rotary sieve. Further, the individual contaminants are dewatered in a screw press. Already at this stage it is possible to remove mechanical pollutants from wastewater.
Further, according to the technological scheme, the waste water enters the tank of the equalizer equipped with turbo-oxidizers and mixers for efficient oxidation of light fractions of pollutants.
After the homogenizer, water is pumped to the main stage of physical and chemical wastewater treatment using reagents. Waste water gradually passes through a pipe flocculator, where reagents are fed, after which the water enters the flotation compartment, where air dissolved in water separates pollutants. The reagent treatment process takes place with the control of the pH of the water and, if necessary, corrected with an alkali solution. As a result of the reagent treatment and due to the flotation air dissolved in the water, stable phtol-complexes are formed that float to the surface and are removed by the scraper mechanism into the sludge tank. As a result, waste water meets the standards for discharge into the city's sewer network and is subject to removal by sewage trucks.
The sludge generated during the cleaning process is treated with a lime solution and dewatered in a chamber filter press. After the dehydration process, we receive disinfected sludge with a residual moisture content of no more than 65%, which corresponds to the standards for the disposal of this by-product of cleaning at the solid waste landfill in Lutsk.

Oleksiy, tell us, how many food industry enterprises in the Volyn region apply to you regarding the implementation of such projects?
You know, even five years ago it was difficult to talk about it. Now we do not take into account giant enterprises, where the owner-deputy can quite easily attract state money for the implementation of any project. We are talking about local enterprises in Ukraine, a young state, where enterprises are at the stage of capital accumulation. In them, the treatment facilities were previously financed on a leftover basis, they were always postponed "until tomorrow." Today the situation is changing. At the moment we are actively working on four enterprises in your region and three more in the Kharkov region. We have the greatest reference for fat and oil production. At the moment, most enterprises are going through the stage that you went through back in 2016 –- this is the creation of design estimates. There is information from the regulatory authorities that the norms for discharge will decrease, in 2021 they will definitely be revised. Therefore, the issue of introducing such systems is becoming relevant. But you shouldn't worry about it anymore.
That is, by and large, such projects simplify communication with regulatory authorities, and, accordingly, enable people to work in peace. The implemented projects at other enterprises show that after the installation and implementation of the system of treatment facilities, the enterprises that discharged into water resources dumped it much cleaner than even the background concentration in the river.
In any case, increasing the level of environmental safety is what positively affects the reputation of the enterprise and allows managers to sleep peacefully.
